I love this inversion, it is a forearm balance called Pincha Maruyasana (Feathered Peacock). It strengthens the shoulders, arms and back, and improves the sense of balance. It also calms the mind and helps to relieve stress.
I am happy to be able to do it again. When my wrist was broken, I was not able to do it. 2 weeks ago, I tried it again and it was not possible, I had lost a lot of strength on my arms and shoulders… After 2 weeks of practicing I was able to do it again. It is amazing how fast we lose strength and flexibility when we are not working our body. Gladly, it is possible to regain them, once we are determined to do this.
Yoga takes a lot of determination and practice. Believe in yourself and practice, everyday, even if only for 5 minutes.
